Training and Experience
I have worked in customer service/public service. I currently work for 2 attorneys who practice criminal law for indigent clients in Ohio. I have been a trainer and leader in many of my jobs, including but not limited to, Walt Disney World and Cracker Barrel. I am the Chair of the Ashland County Democratic Party and I have ran for public office in the past.
As State Representative, I would work to ensure elections remain secure, accessible, and trusted. I would introduce bipartisan legislation to protect voting systems and safeguard election workers from intimidation, threats, and doxing, following models in states like Michigan, Oklahoma, Virginia, and Washington. I would support creating an interagency election security and preparedness working group—similar to those in Montana, New Jersey, and Pennsylvania—to coordinate information sharing and incident response. I would also back an election security navigator program, modeled after Illinois and Minnesota, and require basic election law training for all law enforcement officers.
I would work across the aisle to pursue fair, responsible tax reform that supports working Ohio families, strengthens the economy, and promotes long-term fiscal stability. I support targeted relief for low- and middle-income workers, including an individual worker tax credit for those left out of the Earned Income Tax Credit and a permanent expansion of the child tax credit. Tax reform should treat people with similar incomes equally, close loopholes, and support honest, long-term budget planning that reduces debt and protects future generations.
I would work across the aisle to lower the cost of living by addressing the biggest pressures facing Ohio families. We need more affordable housing, and outdated zoning rules and unnecessary red tape often delay new construction. Reforming these barriers would increase supply and lower costs. I support universal preschool to reduce child care expenses and improve school readiness. I also support expanding registered apprenticeships to provide debt-free pathways to good-paying jobs in fields like technology, health care, and education. Finally, I would work to simplify and coordinate public benefits so families can more easily access the support they need.
My education priorities include strong funding, academic achievement, and student mental & physical health in K–12 schools. For higher education, I support improving affordability & access by expanding career‑focused certificate programs and strengthening financial aid for low‑income and first‑generation students. I believe in accountability and intellectual freedom, including the protection of free speech for students and faculty. The Republicans did not want oversight of 1.6 billion dollars to charter schools without any accountability. All public education funding should be transparent and accountable. Charter schools receiving state funds should be held to the same financial oversight standards as traditional public schools, so that every taxpayer dollar is spent responsibly.
As a state representative, I would reduce hyper-partisanship and promote civility by prioritizing and strengthening bipartisan relationships and focusing on shared policy goals. I would co-sponsor legislation, use nonpartisan legislative services, and ensure that what matters is what my constituents want. ’The People First’.
