Training and Experience
I bring experience in both legislative and administrative roles, giving me a well-rounded understanding of how government works. As a former Youngstown City Councilwoman, I worked directly with constituents and addressed community needs, while my experience with Mahoning County Job & Family Services providing insight into implementing policy and delivering services effectively. Most importantly I understand how policy impacts people; I understand what works and what doesn't.
Volunteer/Community Service
I've been actively involved in community service both in & out of office, regularly participating in community cleanups, projects, & local events. I take pride in initiatives that bring people together and create tangible improvements.
I believe our elections must be both accessible and secure. Every eligible voter should be able to participate without unnecessary barriers while maintaining full confidence in the integrity of the process. In communities like ours, where many residents balance work, family, and transportation challenges, it is essential to protect and strengthen access to early and absentee voting.
At the same time, we must ensure clear, consistent, and transparent election standards across the state. This includes properly resourcing local boards of elections, improving voter education, and safeguarding every lawful vote. Any changes should strengthen access, build public trust, and ensure consistency- so every voter knows their voice is heard and their vote counts.
Ohio’s tax policy should be fair, sustainable, and focused on supporting working families while maintaining strong communities. As the cost of living continues to rise, many households are feeling increased financial pressure, and any reform should provide meaningful relief without shifting the burden onto local governments. When that happens, it often results in higher property taxes or reduced essential services at the local level.
I support a balanced approach that promotes economic growth, maintains fiscal responsibility, and ensures communities have the resources needed to fund schools, infrastructure, and public safety. Tax policy should strengthen our communities and create long-term stability for the people who live and work in them.
The rising cost of living is putting real strain on working families, and it requires practical, targeted solutions. We need to increase the supply of affordable housing, support accessible childcare so parents can remain in the workforce, and strengthen pathways to stable, good-paying jobs. We should also look for ways to reduce everyday costs, including utilities and essential goods, where possible.
At the same time, we must be careful not to pass policies that drive up costs at the local level, whether through taxes, fees, or mandates that are ultimately passed on to residents. Addressing affordability means focusing on what people are actually paying for every day and making responsible decisions that reduce that burden and create long-term stability.
My priority is ensuring every student has access to a high-quality education that prepares them for real opportunities after graduation. For K–12, that means supporting strong & equitable public-school funding, investing in teachers, & ensuring classrooms have the resources they need to help students succeed. We must also prioritize safe learning environments, address learning gaps, and expand access to mental health support for students.
For higher education, the focus should be on affordability & access, while strengthening pathways into the workforce, including skilled trades, apprenticeships, and career-technical programs. Students should be able to pursue education or training without being burdened by overwhelming debt, while also meeting the needs of Ohio’s workforce and economy.
Reducing hyperpartisanship starts with leadership that prioritizes people over politics. In my experience in public service & community work, I’ve seen that real progress happens when we focus on solving problems, not scoring political points. Too often, division is driven by rhetoric instead of results. I believe in focusing on the issues that directly impact our communities & working across perspectives to find practical, common-sense solutions.
That means listening respectfully, being accessible & responsive to constituents, and engaging in honest, transparent communication- even when there are disagreements. By leading with respect, accountability, and a willingness to collaborate, we can rebuild trust, strengthen civic engagement & create a more effective and responsive government.

Protecting the integrity of the election process is a fundamental requirement of democracy. American citizens must trust that their voice matters and that there are safeguards in place enforcing order & justice. If there is to be any change to the election process, it should only be for the matters of security and accessibility. I strongly oppose the Save America Act, as I believe it would be another obstacle for millions of Americans from casting their vote. I support efforts to make voting more accessible and convenient. I know what it’s like getting off work and trying to make it to the polls before they close. To increase voter turnout, I would advocate for automatic voter registration, extending early voting, and improved voting logistics; let’s not give voters a reason to stay home.
Property tax in Ohio is a major problem as many are desperate for relief, so much so that they’re okay with taking away from public services. Ohio must reduce its reliance on local property taxes for school funding. By increasing the state’s share of education costs, we can provide necessary relief to homeowners and create a more balanced tax system.
Nearly 75% of Mahoning Valley residents spend almost half of their income on housing, utilities & transportation. While trying to feed a family, a paycheck doesn’t go as far as it used to. Addressing this issue requires a dual approach which includes providing targeted relief and promoting financial literacy.
From a legislative perspective my aim would be to improve the job market, focusing on expanding current sectors and developing new business. This would help to generate new jobs and increase wages. I would collaborate with local unions and existing agencies that focus on educating and training the workforce. As a lawmaker I could leverage the state capital budget to secure funding, and I can fight against private institutions looking to profit by targeting vulnerable citizens.
Youngstown City Schools has been in academic distress for 16 years, so the #1 priority is putting an end to that. It starts with dissolving the Academic Distress Committee and giving back local control. I fully support House Bill 610, proposed by Rep. Lauren McNally; however, that’s only the beginning. The funding of our schools is also a top priority. I’m advocating for 100% implementation of the Fair School Funding Plan, rather than this “Phased In” approach. Every dollar that the state pays through the Fair School Funding Plan is a dollar that doesn’t have to come from hardworking homeowners via property taxes. With adequate funding we can work to support & retain good teachers, improve our facilities and prepare our children with the skills needed to excel in the real world.
Being a project manager rather than a career politician is a significant advantage in public service because it shifts the focus from partisanship to practical results. As a project manager, my experience is rooted in execution, accountability, and collaboration—skills that are essential to reducing political tension. I focus on the goal and not the fight so it’s imperative to have open lines of communication. I know the difference between talking and real communication and I believe my years of teamwork have prepared me for this. Simply put, I will work with all my colleagues, from both political parties, to improve the lives of constituents of the 58th District. I know everyone says that, but I am sincere. Being new to politics may make working across the aisle a little bit easier.
