What training, experience, or qualifications make you prepared to serve as Clerk-Treasurer?
How have you been involved in the Prince’s Lakes community?
How would you improve efficiency in managing budgets, payroll, and other town financial operations?
What strategies would you use to keep residents informed about financial matters, town ordinances, and public services?
I was elected into office in 2020. Since then I have received four certifications. Indiana Accredited Municipal Clerk and Indiana Accredited Municipal Clerk Advanced from Indiana League of Municipal Clerks and Treasurers, Certified Municipal Official from AIM, and Certified Municipal Clerk from the International Institute of Municipal Clerks.
I have organized our town Easter Egg Hunt and Halloween Trick-or-Treating Events each year. Including stuffing over 4,000 eggs! I also help out with our town Clean-Up Day. I contacted companies, received quotes and talked to them about getting new playground equipment for both parks. I helped get ADA surfacing for our playgrounds. During my time in office I helped get a new basketball court, new lighting around the track and an electric sign in front of Town Hall. The concrete in front of Town Hall was broken and uneven so I contacted contractors and now we have a new safe entry. I also send alerts to our community via text and email when important news or events need to be communicated.
I have worked closely with a municipal finance consultant, along with completing ongoing training throughout the year, to strengthen my understanding of the budget process. This has allowed me to prepare and submit budgets more effectively and with greater confidence in achieving approval. Additionally, I have implemented improvements in both financial operations and payroll processes to enhance overall efficiency.
