We should make it as easy as possible for American citizens to vote - while ensuring that only American citizens vote.
Our economic system is rigged by those at the very top, and that rigged system really shows its fangs when we talk about the cost of living. Working Americans in Ohio are choosing between paying their car insurance or buying groceries. Small business owners feel this pinch the hardest - paying staff at the expense of late electric and utility bills. Our government should do everything in its power to help hardworking families, not be the enabler that rigs the system against them.
Americans have been adversarially conditioned to view every political or social issue through a toxic 2-party lense. We have replaced religious affiliation with political affiliation as the primary social structure that informs our worldview - and challenging that conditioning is seen as heresy. Both Major Parties are bought and paid for by the same billionaires and mega-corporations that write the laws and call fhe shots behind the scenes - meanwhile, keeping us Poors fighting amongst ourselves, rather than uniting against them in solidarity. And when all else fails, before pressing send in that toxic comment section - just ask yourself, "what would Dolly do?"
Americans should not and will not give up our inherent freedoms under the pretense of national security. War should be undertaken only in the direst of circumstance, and with full transparency and accountability. There is a way to be a force for good in the world while constantly putting the needs and priorities of American citizens at the forefront of every foreign action. We have lost our way, and lost clarity of direction, focus, and purpose in our geopolitical endeavors. Time to get them back.
We need immigration policy that is simple, straightforward, and puts the needs and priorities of Americans first, while promoting balanced, positive immigration for foreign citizens who go to bed at night with an American dream in their hearts.
