I've lived in Johnson County since 1995, have raised my family here, and intend to spend the rest of my life here. I've worked in the Assessor's Office since 2001 and have a quarter century of experience performing every duty in the Assessor's Office related to real property assessment. I am a level 3 Indiana Assessor-Appraiser, which is the highest level of certification the State of Indiana Offers to Assessors. I've served as the elected official since my predecessor chose to retire at the end of 2022 and am willing to do what it takes to make sure every assessment is as accurate as possible, whether it's $500 or $50,000,000.
We follow all rules and guidelines issued by the Department of Local Government Finance. which governs the assessment of property in Indiana. Every year, we submit all of our data to the DLGF for approval and we have never failed to gain that approval in all the years I've been associated with the office. In the event a taxpayer feels their assessment is incorrect and wishes to appeal, we will work with them to ensure we arrive at the correct value.
The Assessor's Office is always available to answer questions about assessments. All of our data is submitted to the State every year and individual assessments are available for view publicly on the Beacon website, which is located at jcmaps.org.
The mission of the Assessor's Office is to utilize mass appraisal techniques to arrive at fair and equitable values for all parcels. We use every available technology to arrive at fair and accurate assessments.
