Prosecuting Attorney
A prosecutor acts as a legal representative of a victim of a crime. Prosecutors research and present the case in a criminal trial in an effort to punish the individual accused of committing the crime. The responsibilities of prosecutors include interviewing witnesses, reading police reports, and performing legal research for the prosecution of each case.Additional responsibilities include:Working with police officers and court staffInstructing and advising counsel in courtLiaising with criminal justice and law enforcement agenciesEnsuring that criminals are punished fairlyHandling appealsPreparing criminal cases for pre-trial and trial.
