Describe your background.
I began high school at Western before moving to Lexington, Kentucky, where I graduated. During that time, I was a state champion and Kentucky All-Star basketball player. I went on to play basketball on scholarship at Iowa State University, graduating with honors, and later earned my law degree from the University of Iowa College of Law with distinction. I practiced law in Florida from 2000 to 2012 before returning home to Kokomo, where I opened and operated my own law practice. In 2019, I was appointed as Howard County’s first Magistrate Judge, a position I continue to serve in today.
Occupation
Judge
My experience as the first Howard County Magistrate Judge has prepared me to serve as Circuit Court Judge. Appointed by all five Howard County judges, I have spent seven years presiding over a wide range of cases. I have handled every type of matter before our courts, building the breadth and depth of experience this role requires. My decisions have been consistently affirmed on appeal, reflecting my commitment to fairness and the law. I also bring experience in private practice, prosecution, and defense, including leading the juvenile and sex crimes divisions in Clay County, Florida. My time as an attorney and on the bench has given me the judgment and perspective to serve with integrity.
My first priority as Circuit Court Judge will be to lead a comprehensive evaluation of the court’s cases and processes. This includes listening to community members about unmet needs, consulting with attorneys to identify what is and isn’t working and assessing the court’s operations. The goal is to streamline processes, maximize efficiency, and ensure accountability so the court can better serve Howard County.

Describe your background.
I have been practicing for nearly 18 years in both private practice and as a deputy prosecuting attorney.
Occupation
Deputy Prosecuting Attorney
Prior to law school, I served as a C.A.SA. (Court Appointed Special Advocate) volunteer. I later became employed in the C.A.S.A office as a case manger assisting volunteers and helping children in court.
After law school, I started private practice in family and criminal law. In 2010, I was hired as a deputy prosecutor. Now, I am an experienced trial attorney with 16 years of service to the people of Howard County.
In addition to my prosecution work, I was in private practice for approximately 15 years where I handled cases in family law, custody, child support, property line litigation, contracts, personal injury, criminal law, and probate, wills, estates, and trusts.
I have also represented the town boards of Sharpsville and Galveston.
My top priority is to serve as a fair and impartial judge who applies the law without bias or prejudice. I will also prioritize accessibility and efficiency.
