Term: 4 yearsSalary: $60,384Three candidates are running to be the Democratic Party's candidate for the District 11 seat on Council. They are Anise Mayo, the Planning Manager for Euclid and a former Euclid City Council member; Shirley Smith, a resident of South Euclid and a former Ohio State legislator; and Ebony Spano of Highland Heights, a Navy veteran and the founder of a Cleveland nonprofit to help children living in poverty.Only one candidate will be on the Republican Party ballot: William McLaughlin of South Euclid. HE WILL NOT RECEIVE A LEAGUE QUESTIONNAIRE UNTIL THE FALL; HE HAS NO COMPETITION ON THE PRIMARY BALLOT.Sunny Simon, who has served on County Council since 2011, the year the new form of county government was formed, is not running for reelection. A family-practice lawyer, she is running instead to be a judge in the Domestic Relations Division of the Cuyahoga County Court of Common Pleas.District 11 comprises the cities of Beachwood, Euclid, Highland Heights, Lyndhurst, Richmond Heights and South Euclid.
