I want to serve as a School Board Member because I care deeply about the future of our schools and the strength of the Cedar Grove–Belgium community. As a parent of two young daughters in the district, the decisions made by the School Board directly impact my family and the opportunities available to our children. I want to help ensure our schools remain safe, supportive, and focused on preparing students for success.
Professionally, I work as a Project Manager for a large medical manufacturing OEM, where I manage complex projects that require strategic planning, budgeting, collaboration, and accountability. My role requires evaluating detailed information, working with diverse teams, and making responsible decisions that balance short-term needs with long-term goals.
I value listening to teachers, parents, students, and community members to make thoughtful decisions that support strong schools and a thriving community.
I believe the most pressing issues for the School Board in the next term are maintaining academic excellence, keeping schools safe and supportive, and ensuring long-term financial sustainability. With enrollment in future classes projected to decline and state funding unlikely to increase, staying on budget will be critical. Supporting teachers, engaging parents, and maintaining open communication remain essential. I also see a greater focus on the Rocket Academy as a priority, ensuring its continued growth to provide innovative, high-quality learning opportunities that prepare students for their careers.
As a school board member, I see my role as representing the community, setting priorities, and making thoughtful decisions about budgets, policies, and the long-term direction of our schools. I understand that I am not managing day-to-day operations—that responsibility belongs to the superintendent and administrators, who bring expertise in curriculum, staffing, and programs. My job is to provide guidance, ask the right questions, and support them while ensuring the district stays focused on serving students and families. As a board member my responsibility is setting direction and providing oversight, and administration makes it happen.
