#23 Clinton Township (Unincorporated Area) – Proposed Resolution (Natural Gas Aggregation)
This resolution would authorize Clinton Township to aggregate natural gas service for residents in the unincorporated area. Aggregation allows the township to negotiate gas supply contracts on behalf of participating customers. Residents and eligible businesses would have the option to opt out.PRO:Supporters say aggregation may allow the township to negotiate competitive energy rates for residents and businesses. Participation is optional, allowing individuals to opt out if they prefer their current provider.CON:Opponents note that energy aggregation programs can be complex, requiring residents to review and understand participation options. Aggregation does not guarantee lower rates and may involve additional administrative responsibilities for the township.
