#1 I will focus on protecting core public services like public safety, libraries, and township support while stabilizing funding amid changes to Indiana’s property tax system.
#2 I bring a proven record of responsible financial management and will prioritize transparent budgeting, careful spending, and strong accountability so taxpayers see real results.
#3 I will also support smart economic development that creates jobs, strengthens neighborhoods, and grows the tax base in a way that benefits residents across Lake County.
I bring more than two decades of public service experience, including 14 years as a teacher, 5 years as a school administrator, 5 years as Superintendent of the School City of Hammond, and currently as Chief of Staff for the City of Hammond. Throughout my career, I have managed complex budgets, led organizations through financial challenges, and made difficult decisions to ensure long term stability. I have worked closely with elected officials, departments, and community stakeholders to deliver results. This experience has prepared me to provide responsible financial oversight, strong leadership, and a practical, solutions focused approach on the Lake County Council.
I would focus on doing the basics exceptionally well while making smarter use of limited resources. First, I would prioritize core services and align funding to what residents rely on most. Second, I would use data and performance metrics to identify inefficiencies and improve accuracy in service delivery. Third, I would streamline processes through technology and cross department coordination to reduce duplication and errors. Finally, I would strengthen accountability by regularly reviewing outcomes and ensuring departments are meeting clear service standards. Even in a constrained budget environment, residents should expect reliable, accurate, and responsive services.
I will be accessible, responsive, and proactive in engaging with constituents. I plan to attend community meetings across the district, maintain open lines of communication through phone, email, and social media, and provide timely updates on county decisions. I will also collaborate with local officials, community organizations, and neighborhood groups to stay informed on issues affecting residents. Most importantly, I will listen. Good representation starts with understanding the concerns of the people you serve and ensuring their voices are reflected in the decisions made at the county level.
I am running to bring steady, experienced leadership and a practical approach to county government. I believe residents want results, not politics, and I will work with anyone, regardless of party, to get things done. My career has been defined by making tough decisions, managing resources responsibly, and putting the community first. I am committed to transparency, accountability, and ensuring Lake County remains a place where families can thrive, businesses can grow, and residents can trust their local government.

If elected to the Lake County Council representing District 1, my three priorities will be:
#1 Strengthening public safety while protecting civil rights and expanding access to mental health services so people in crisis receive the help they need and our communities remain safe.
#2 Investing in infrastructure and responsible economic development that creates good-paying jobs and strengthens our local communities.
#3 Promoting fiscal responsibility and transparent government to ensure taxpayer dollars are spent wisely and residents understand how decisions are made.
My background in community and economic development, along with municipal administration, has given me a strong understanding of how public policy shapes the growth and well-being of our communities. Through my work and education, I have focused on how local government decisions impact economic opportunity, public services, and quality of life.
I have also been actively engaged in civic and community issues, strengthening my commitment to public service. These experiences have prepared me to approach county government thoughtfully, focusing on responsible budgeting, smart economic development, and policies that improve the lives of Lake County residents.
In the face of budget reductions, my focus would be protecting essential services and the workers who deliver them while improving efficiency and accountability.
I would support careful review of spending to eliminate waste and ensure resources are directed to the services residents rely on most. Investing in strong communication, modern systems, and coordination between departments can improve service quality and accuracy even during financial challenges.
Responsible budgeting means making thoughtful decisions that maintain public services, support the workforce, and ensure taxpayer dollars are used effectively.
As a non-incumbent, I believe strong communication with constituents must be a priority from the start. If elected, I would ensure residents have multiple ways to share concerns and ideas, including community meetings, open office hours, and accessible digital communication.
I would also work with neighborhood groups, community organizations, and local leaders to stay connected to the issues residents face. I also believe public meetings should be scheduled at times that are more accessible for working residents so more people can participate. My goal is open, transparent communication so constituents feel heard, informed, and represented.
I believe effective local government starts with listening to the people it serves. I am committed to approaching this role with openness, transparency, and a focus on practical solutions that strengthen our communities.
My goal is to work collaboratively, make responsible decisions with taxpayer resources, and ensure residents feel heard and represented. I believe thoughtful public policy and strong community engagement can help build safer neighborhoods, stronger local economies, and a better quality of life for everyone.
