I will focus on three key priorities: modernization, economic opportunity, and community impact. First, I will continue modernizing township operations to ensure services are efficient, accessible, and responsive to residents’ needs. Second, I will expand workforce and economic development efforts by connecting residents to job training, employment opportunities, and strong community and corporate partnerships. Third, I will strengthen community engagement by increasing visibility, improving communication, and ensuring residents can easily access the resources available to them. My focus is simple: deliver results, strengthen systems, and create real opportunities for the people we serve.
I bring a combination of public sector leadership and corporate strategy experience. As the current Calumet Township Trustee, I manage operations, oversee resources, and lead service delivery for residents. Previously, I served on the Gary Common Council, including as President, where I helped guide policy and governance. From my previous experience I also bring my ability to implement data-driven solutions. Across all roles, I have demonstrated leadership, accountability, and a commitment to delivering results for the community.
In a constrained budget environment, the focus must be on doing better with what we have. I would improve service quality by standardizing processes, strengthening staff training, and using data to track performance and identify inefficiencies. I would also leverage technology to streamline operations and reduce errors, while building partnerships with community organizations to expand our reach. My approach centers on accountability, efficiency, and delivering high-quality, accurate service to residents.
My priority is ensuring residents are both aware of and able to access township services. I would strengthen communication through a multi-layered approach expanding community-based outreach, enhancing digital platforms like social media and other innovative solutions, and launching targeted campaigns around key programs. Equally important is maintaining a culture of responsiveness within the office, so every resident interaction is informative and solution-oriented. Effective communication builds trust, and my goal is to ensure residents feel informed, supported, and connected to the services available to them.
