America needs a secure, orderly, and humane immigration system. I support strengthening border security, reducing legal immigration backlogs, modernizing visa programs that support our economy, and providing certainty for Dreamers who have grown up in this country.
Businesses throughout Hillsborough and Pasco Counties need a reliable workforce, while families deserve clear and consistently enforced laws. Immigration policy should be established by Congress through legislation rather than temporary executive actions. We can uphold the rule of law, protect our borders, and treat people with dignity while supporting economic growth and national security.
Yes. Climate change presents financial risks to families, businesses, and taxpayers. In Florida, homeowners are already experiencing rising insurance costs, stronger storms, flooding, and extreme heat.
Families across Hillsborough and Pasco Counties see these costs directly through insurance premiums, infrastructure damage, and disaster recovery expenses. Investing in resilient infrastructure, flood mitigation, and practical energy solutions can reduce long-term costs while protecting our economy, public safety, property values, and quality of life.
My first priority is lowering the cost of living for working families by addressing housing affordability, rising property insurance premiums, healthcare expenses, and protecting Social Security and Medicare.
My second priority is restoring accountability and trust in government. The Constitution established checks and balances to protect Americans from government overreach. Congress must fulfill its oversight responsibilities, increase transparency, protect voting rights, and ensure government works effectively and responsibly for the people it serves.
Freedom of speech means every American has the right to express opinions, criticize government, advocate for change, practice religion, gather peacefully, and participate in public debate without fear of government censorship or retaliation.
The First Amendment protects speech we agree with and speech we may strongly disagree with. A healthy democracy depends on open dialogue, access to information, and an informed electorate. Voters should be trusted to evaluate competing ideas and make their own decisions at the ballot box.
Both branches have important constitutional responsibilities. The President manages the Executive Branch and federal agencies, while Congress creates agencies, appropriates funding, conducts oversight, and ensures laws are implemented as intended.
Our system of government depends on checks and balances. Strong congressional oversight helps maintain accountability, transparency, and public trust while ensuring no branch of government exercises authority without appropriate constitutional safeguards.
Every eligible citizen should have a meaningful opportunity to exercise their constitutional right to vote.
If additional documentation requirements are imposed, government should ensure required records are affordable, accessible, and easy to obtain. I would support streamlined processes, reasonable fee waivers, online access where feasible, and assistance for individuals whose names have changed through marriage, adoption, or other circumstances.
Election security and voter access should work together, not against one another. Eligible voters should not lose their ability to participate in our democracy because government has made documentation difficult or expensive to obtain.
The federal government should be a partner in expanding educational opportunity while respecting the primary role of states and local school districts.
At the preschool level, federal programs should support access to quality early learning opportunities because early success can have lifelong benefits. In K-12 education, the federal government should help ensure equal opportunity, support students with disabilities, strengthen career and technical education, and assist underserved communities.
For higher education, the federal government should help make college, technical training, apprenticeships, and workforce credentials more affordable and accessible. In growing communities like Hillsborough and Pasco Counties, preparing students for good-paying jobs is critical to economic opportunity, workforce development, and long-term prosperity.
