I believe the United States needs an immigration system that is secure, fair, humane, and worthy of our values. I support abolishing ICE in its current form and replacing it with a newly structured agency focused on public safety, professional standards, and accountability. Immigration enforcement should prioritize individuals who pose genuine threats to national security or public safety, not families, long-time residents, or people whose only offense is an immigration violation. The new agency should operate with independent oversight, transparent reporting, strict due process protections, and clear standards that prohibit inhumane treatment.
I also support creating a three-year national self-reporting program that allows undocumented immigrants who have not committed serious crimes to come forward, register with the federal government, undergo background checks, pay applicable taxes and fees, and receive temporary legal status while pursuing a pathway to citizenship.
Yes. I believe climate change is a significant financial threat to our nation's economy. My top two of several reasons are the increasing strain on our electric grid, and the growing cost of extreme weather disasters.
First, rising temperatures and more frequent extreme weather place tremendous stress on our electric grid. Higher demand for air conditioning, stronger storms, and aging infrastructure increase the risk of power outages, drive up utility costs, and require billions of dollars in upgrades and repairs.
Second, hurricanes, floods, wildfires, and other natural disasters are becoming more frequent and more expensive. These events damage homes, businesses, roads, bridges, and public infrastructure, while increasing insurance premiums and placing a growing financial burden on taxpayers and local communities.
My top legislative priority would be supporting Medicare for All legislation, as introduced by Senator Bernie Sanders. I believe healthcare is a fundamental right, not a privilege, and every American should have access to affordable, comprehensive medical care without the fear of financial hardship or medical debt.
My second priority would be introducing legislation to restore Congress's constitutional authority over tariffs by repealing the broad powers granted to the President under the Trade Act of 1974. Trade policy has far-reaching consequences for American families, workers, farmers, and businesses, and decisions of this magnitude should be debated and approved by the people's elected representatives in Congress rather than exercised unilaterally by any president.
Freedom of speech, to me, also includes freedom of expression. It is one of the most fundamental rights protected by the First Amendment and essential to a free and democratic society. I believe the government should not limit an individual's right to speak, express ideas, or peacefully share opinions simply because those views are unpopular or controversial.
At the same time, I recognize that no constitutional right is absolute. Speech that directly incites imminent violence, constitutes true threats, or is otherwise outside the protections recognized by the courts may be lawfully restricted. Beyond those narrow exceptions, I believe Americans should be free to speak their minds without fear of government censorship.
As someone who served in the military, I took an oath to defend the Constitution, and that includes defending the right of every American to express their beliefs—even when I disagree with them. Our democracy is strongest when ideas are challenged through open debate.
As a high school American Government teacher, I recognize that the Constitution carefully separates power among three co-equal branches of government. While the President, as head of the Executive Branch under Article II, is responsible for managing and supervising federal agencies, Congress has the constitutional authority under Article I to create those agencies, appropriate their funding, conduct oversight, and hold the Executive Branch accountable through hearings, investigations, and legislation. I believe strong congressional oversight is essential to preserving the system of checks and balances envisioned by our Founders and ensuring that federal agencies remain accountable to the American people.
If documentary proof of U.S. citizenship becomes a requirement to register to vote, I believe the federal government has a responsibility to ensure that every eligible citizen can obtain the necessary documents without unnecessary financial or administrative barriers. I would support waiving or reimbursing the cost of obtaining certified birth certificates, marriage certificates, and other required records for the purpose of voter registration, so that no American is denied the right to vote because they cannot afford the documentation.
I would support creating a secure, nationwide document verification assistance program that allows election officials to electronically verify citizenship through existing federal and state records whenever possible. This would reduce the burden on citizens, particularly women whose names may have changed through marriage, while maintaining the integrity and security of our elections.
I believe that any cost imposed on voting is a poll tax.
I believe the federal government has a clear and essential obligation to ensure that the Department of Education is fully funded and empowered to carry out its mission across every level of learning—from pre-school through K-12 and into higher education.
At the pre-school level, the federal government should support early childhood education programs that focus on access, readiness, and closing achievement gaps before children ever enter kindergarten. In K-12 education, the Department of Education plays a critical role in ensuring equity in funding, enforcing civil rights protections, supporting special education services, investing in teacher training, and providing resources to strengthen public schools in underserved communities. At the higher education level, its responsibility includes expanding access to Pell Grants, supporting student loan reform, promoting workforce training programs, and ensuring that college and technical education remain pathways to upward mobility.

I believe immigrants are vital to America. I would champion legislation that would update our current system. One of the reasons we have so many undocumented immigrants is that the process takes way too long. Some people have been waiting on the list for over a decade. In the case of high-demand nations like Mexico, this wait can stretch up to 25 years. If this is the case, then we cannot be surprised when people take the matter into their own hands. One way to help this would be with technology. I would propose that we streamline the process, while always maintaining an actual person in the loop. Upgrading processes like data entry and digitizing files would be a great first step in this effort while maintaining the security of human review.
Absolutely, climate change is a financial threat to Florida and our nation. Here in Florida, we are on the front lines of this economic reality. The increasing frequency and severity of extreme weather events are causing a massive impact on our property insurance, driving up premiums. In an already crowded housing market, this places an additional barrier in front of hardworking families.
These extreme weather crises also put a massive financial burden on local governments to repair and reinforce critical infrastructure. We need to focus on preventative measures instead of more costly reactive solutions.
I believe the United States should focus heavily on renewable energy. There are so many great companies that are working on cheaper, non-polluting alternatives, and the government needs to adopt these technologies at all levels. Denying climate change is denying science and facts, which is something that I will never do.
My first priority is to stop government corruption. I believe in term limits, no stock trading, and common sense laws to ensure our representatives do not abuse their positions. Instead, we must be a direct voice for our district. My platform of Direct Democracy will achieve this without changing a single law! For each major bill in DC, I will create an educational video explaining it in simple terms using only facts, with no political party messaging. After that, we will open it up to a district-wide vote using secure technology. Whatever the majority opinion is, is exactly how I will vote in Congress. I will put power back in the hands of the people.
My second priority is to bring my tech skills to Congress, which are severely lacking. We need strict laws for AI, crypto, and digital privacy. My background as an engineer and professor will help make sure these technologies lead our country to a brighter future and keep us at the forefront of global innovation.
In my opinion, freedom of speech is the foundation that a free country is built on. We need the ability to speak truth to power in order to hold our leaders accountable.
Our current government too often seeks to dampen this right. Threatening protesters, making wrongful arrests, and using force against American citizens in the streets for standing up for what they believe is entirely un-American.
The open debate of ideas is fundamental for a working democracy. Somewhere along the way, we seem to have forgotten this truth, and it has divided our country. As a representative in Congress, I will listen to all opinions and focus on policies over parties. Policies can unite people where parties tend to divide us.
I have been talking to people of all backgrounds in our district for almost a year now. Beneath the minor disagreements used by parties to divide us, everyday citizens all want the same thing: a safe, secure future for themselves and their families.
The answer to this is a bit complicated. Both Congress and the President have a role in overseeing federal agencies.
Congress creates the laws and agencies, and they hold power over them by controlling their funding. The Executive branch is designed to run those agencies and ensure they enforce those laws correctly. This system of checks and balances was designed to keep any one person from acquiring too much power.
This is great in theory, but our current system is broken. Congress is failing to do its job. Career politicians are too busy fighting each other for sound bites instead of overseeing these agencies. This gridlock is why the President often bypasses them as he tries to rule our nation alone. This is NOT how our government was designed to work, and it is why we have so many cracks in it at the moment.
As your representative, I will work to restore the balance our three branches need to function. Congress needs to work for the people instead of companies and lobbyists.
First off, this is another of those wedge issues designed to divide our population. We all want strong elections, and the good news is that we already have them!
The Heritage Foundation did a report and found that there were 68 documented cases of noncitizen voting in the last 40 years. Of those, only 10 cases involved undocumented immigrants. The rest were mostly legal green card holders who made administrative mistakes. This is out of over a billion votes that were cast.
The government has the mandate to make voting easier, not harder, and we cannot have any added costs to vote. If the government demands proof of U.S. citizenship, then we need to fund that process at every level. I will draft legislation that will make it free to obtain the paperwork required. This should not fall on each individual citizen, as this would place the heaviest burden on lower-income families.
As an educator of over 20 years, teaching everything from fashion design to computer programming, I know that education is the foundation of America. We cannot fall behind other countries.
For pre-school, the federal government must help states fund universal early education so every child gets a fair start, regardless of their zip code.
For K-12, we must set a high national baseline for student success. But while we need high standards, a rigid federal system will fail because every school faces unique challenges. We must fully fund our public schools, pay teachers what they deserve, and remove administrative barriers so local educators have the freedom to actually teach.
For higher education, over 40 million Americans are crushed by student debt. We need a zero-interest federal loan program for new students. We must also allow anyone currently struggling with existing loans to refinance to this 0% rate, so people can invest in their futures without getting trapped in lifelong debt.
