Bandera County District Clerk (03-03-2026)

A district clerk in the state of Texas performs the duties assigned by the Texas Constitution as registrar, recorder, and custodian of all court pleadings, instruments, and papers that are part of any legal cause of action in the district court for the county. The term of office is four years.Duties: serves as clerk and custodian of all records for the District Court; indexes and secures all court records, collects filing fees, and handles funds held in litigation and money awarded to minors; coordinates the jury panel selection process; may process passport applications; and manages court registry funds. Some duties performed by a district clerk may vary from county to county.

My 22 years of experience in Bandera County government qualify me to serve as District Clerk, supported by a strong background in personnel management, court administration, records management, and public service. I have extensive experience handling legal documents, filings, and statutory deadlines that require accuracy, confidentiality, and strict compliance with Texas law. I understand the responsibilities of the District Clerk’s Office, including jury administration, case management, and providing professional assistance to the public. My current position as Chief Deputy District Clerk Court Coordinator demands careful attention to detail, organization of high- volume records, and effective use of case management systems. I am committed to excellent customer service, ensuring citizens receive clear information in a timely manner. The District Clerk serves as the official record keeper for the county’s District Courts and plays a vital role in the local justice system. The clerk is responsible for preserving all court records related to felony criminal cases, civil cases, family law matters, and child support cases. Duties include filing and maintaining legal documents and case dockets, issuing citations and subpoenas, and collecting court fees, fines, and court costs. The District Clerk supports judges and attorneys by ensuring accurate and complete records are readily available for hearings and trials. In addition, the office oversees jury administration, including summoning prospective jurors and maintaining jury records. The District Clerk is responsible for safeguarding court documents and ensuring compliance with state laws and court procedures. Overall, the District Clerk helps ensure transparency, efficiency, and the lawful operation of the District Courts in Bandera County.
I have 11 years experience in the court systems in both Bandera County and Kerr County. I have worked with up to 5 different courts and have extensive knowledge of various court systems, to include but not limited to Civil, Family, and Criminal courts. I have been the Chief Jury Coordinator since 2022 for Bandera County and before that for a year and a half in Kerr County. I am known for my accountability, integrity, and work ethic.
The main duties of a district clerk is to keep record of the district courts documentation. We are the record keepers of all district civil, family and felony criminal matters. We help numerous people, including attorneys, in procedures of the court. We handle court costs and fines for all our cases. We also process passports. That is just a snippet of what the District Clerk’s office does.

I qualify to be Bandera County’s District Clerk because of the training and work experience received over 35 years that carries a proven track record of managerial skills needed to serve as the District Clerk of Bandera County. I had a career, in the corporate sector, successfully managing commission retail sales for the fine jewelry stores with JC Penney Corp. and Finley Fine Jewelry of New York, who contracted with Foley’s, Saks, Bloomingdales, and Nordstrom’s department stores. I also have experience as a contracted professional working for sole proprietors, companies and the District Clerk of Bandera, County to preform and complete tasks or projects. Finally, I have successfully owned and operated my own business that was nominated as one of the ten finalists from the NAWBO of Oklahoma and recognized for its excellence by (at the time) Lieutenant Governor Mary Fallin.
The District Clerk, under oath, swears to uphold the integrity of the Judicial process of the District Court as the custodian, by upholding court and administrative records, the jury selection process and monetary funds for the citizens of Bandera County and the State of Texas.
