White Gray Constable

Over their two-year term, a constable has the same law enforcement authority as a sheriff in their township. They have arrest power, can write citations, and respond to accidents. A 2007 law, however, placed training requirements on constables if they wanted to carry a gun on duty and have access to the Arkansas Crime Information Center. State law also requires them to wear uniforms while on duty and label any patrol vehicle with "Arkansas Constable" on it. They are required to turn over any fines collected from citations to the county.Under state law, they no longer have authority to appoint deputies. They are required to keep records of any citations and administrative records, similar to requirements placed on sheriffs.https://www.uaex.uada.edu/business-communities/ced-blog/posts/2022/may/what-is-a-constable.aspx

I am running for the position of Gray Township Constable.

A Constable has the same law enforcement authority as a sheriff in their township. They have arrest power, can write citations, and respond to accidents, serve warrants and writs etc.
Decorated retired law enforcement officer with over two and a half decades of real world experience in every aspect of law enforcement from working as a jailer, patrol, criminal investigations, narcotics and have also supervised those divisions holding the ranks of Sergeant, Lieutenant and finally Captain before retiring in 2019. I also have years of Administrative experience dealing with budgeting as well as writing policy and procedures.
Unfortunately there isn’t a lot that can be changed as far as the constable position is concerned. I would like to work with our local sheriffs, Office, Coram Court, County Judge and other elected officials within my county to try and establish some sort of budgets for elected constables, whether that helps them with some equipment or a patrol vehicle in order to better do the job they have been elected to do. I believe that by doing this, it will make the office itself more appealing to better qualified candidates throughout the state, bringing more honor and recognition to the office. I would also like to work with other constables around the state and help establish a stronger voice with local and state policy makers.
The position of Constable is to enforce the laws, serve legal documents, and hold the Sheriff accountable.
I have over 10 years experience in public service. I’ve served as a volunteer firefighter, currently employed as a paramedic, and work in mental health. I’ve stood beside families and individuals on their worst days and became the calm in their storm.
I plan to be a known presence in this community. I will be available to the people of this community.
