What is one thing you feel your school district does very well, and how do you plan to support that?
What is the most important thing you school district needs to improve, and what do you plan to do to change it?
One thing our district does very well is fostering a strong sense of community and connection between students, families, and educators. When parents feel welcomed and students feel known, learning thrives.
As a board member, I would support that strength by encouraging open communication, showing up consistently, and helping create opportunities for families to stay involved. I believe when we build trust and partnership with parents and staff, we create an environment where students can truly succeed.
The most important area our district needs to improve is academic performance, particularly reading proficiency and overall student achievement. Our test scores and GPA averages show that too many students are not reading at grade level, and that affects every subject moving forward.
If elected, I will prioritize a data-driven approach to improving literacy and academic outcomes. That means supporting evidence-based reading instruction, strengthening early intervention efforts, and ensuring we are regularly reviewing student progress to adjust strategies when needed.
I believe accountability and transparency matter. Families deserve to understand where we are and what the plan is to improve. My focus would be on measurable growth.
