I am running for village trustee to continue to make the Village of Grafton a great place to live, work, shop, play and thrive. I have two years experience as a village trustee and have learned a lot in my term. I use common sense and cost effectiveness to help form solutions to the challenges the village faces. My goal is to provide great services in a manner that is a great value for the citizens of Grafton.
I believe growth and traffic are the important issues facing Grafton.
Thoughtful and measured growth help keep a community thriving. I will continue to help carefully guide plans for new developments as well as for empty or underutilized parcels in the village so we don’t overload our existing high quality services and to ensure our village departments are the right size to accommodate those plans.
As Grafton continues to be a destination of choice and our neighbors continue to grow as well, traffic will become a greater issue. With thorough planning and in partnership with the county and state, I will work to provide solutions to keep traffic safely flowing throughout the village.
My personal preference to interact with people is direct communication. Posting items on line or emailing people are both subject to interpretation. Direct communication, whether telephone or meeting in person, is my way of receiving immediate feedback, getting more understanding, and a great way to work toward solutions. I spend my free time in the community; dining, shopping, playing and attending local events. I enjoy meeting new people and hearing different ideas about how to make Grafton the best “Quality Life, Naturally”.

I am running for office because I believe that local government is where impact is best made in the community, in the nation. I have a passion for public service, handed down to me from parents and grandparents. I feel it is my duty to serve in all aspects of my life. I am running specifically because I want to work to keep Grafton a great place to call home, to be able to raise a family. I would especially like to focus on road conditions in Grafton and advocate for ways to improve the current state of our roads.
I am also passionate about bringing in more small businesses to downtown Grafton. I wholeheartedly support small business, viewing it as the backbone of the nation. Moreover, I believe Grafton needs to balance demand for housing with a responsible, measured pace of growth. There is a balance to be struck.
As to the roads, I think the village should make greater investment in the repair of roads. Having safe and well paved roads is not only a safety issue, it is an economic one too. The middle class disproportionally bears the burden when they blow a tire, or damage their cars on the way to work from a pothole. I give my word that when in office, I will be obsessed with advocating for fixing the state of the roads.
Further, I think it is critical that we protect our outdoor areas and parks. I do think greater investment in green spaces is necessary!
I look forward to implementing a weekly newsletter for my constituents to subscribe to and follow along with the journey! I also will make myself readily available after all Village board meetings!
