Candidate Statement
Today the residents of our township don’t seem to be aware of procedure and processes around management of township resources. Our township is full of busy working families, not everyone has time and availability chase after what the township is doing. I want to ensure that every resident can see exactly how their resources are being planned for and used. My goal is to encourage greater engagement by meeting residents where they are and providing meaningful context. With my background as a veteran, a logistics leader, and tech startup leader, I am committed to anticipating challenges rather than simply reacting to them. I am running for township trustee because I believe in proactive, transparent government that truly serves its residents. I believe the township deserves a leader who delivers stability, accountability, and active community engagement.

1. Increasing transparency and proactive communication between the township government and its residents, ensuring everyone has access to clear, timely information
2. Engaging with and building connections with community by more directly by seeking feedback and meeting residents where they are, across platforms, venues and times.
3. Delivering stability and accountable stewardship of the township's budget and resources, with a focus on planning for both the present and future growth of our township.
I believe these priorities will help foster trust, support our community’s evolving needs, and ensure sustainable progress.
Township assistance must be guided by accessibility, dignity, and efficiency. First, the process of seeking help should not be an additional burden; we must use technology to make applications and communication as seamless as possible. Second, every resident facing hardship deserves to be treated with absolute respect and empathy. Assistance is a fundamental safety net, and the process should reflect our community’s compassion. Finally, efficiency and stewardship are essential. By optimizing our logistics and operational workflows behind the scenes, we can ensure that resources are delivered faster to those who urgently need them, while strictly maintaining the fiscal responsibility expected by taxpayers. The goal should always be to provide immediate stabilization while connecting residents with long-term resources.
I would make township operations significantly more visible and transparent, starting with how and when we hold our board meetings. Washington Township is a growing community made up largely of working-age adults and busy families. The current meeting schedule makes it incredibly difficult for the average resident to participate. To fix this, I would immediately push to move township meetings to the evening, ensuring working residents have a real opportunity to attend and let their voices be heard. Furthermore, I would modernize our digital communication strategy to engage citizens where they are. I would implement a standard practice of posting clear, accessible updates on the township website and social media channels both before and after every meeting. By proactively sharing agendas, key decisions, and community initiatives, we can encourage the active participation and awareness that a healthy, accountable local government requires.
If entrusted with a $1 million grant, my focus would be on direct community investment to build a stronger, more connected township. I would distribute the funds across four key pillars. First, I would bolster our core township assistance programs, ensuring our most vulnerable neighbors have a reliable and accessible safety net during times of hardship. Second, I would dedicate funds to host regular community events. Strong neighborhoods are built on connection, and creating spaces for residents to gather fosters a much deeper sense of unity and shared purpose. Third, I would invest in educational assistance and acceleration programs. Supporting our youth through accessible tutoring, out-of-school initiatives, and mentorship ensures the next generation is equipped to succeed. Finally, I would allocate capital to strategically fund our growth, ensuring our local resources scale responsibly and efficiently to meet our rapidly expanding community's future needs.
