I have lived in Noblesville for over twenty-five years. My husband and I are raising our family here. I love this community and want to be a part of its continuing success. Indiana townships are under scrutiny and it is up to local leaders to demonstrate the value that townships can provide using public funds. My education and experience has prepared me to serve our community through mission focused financial oversight as a township board member.
The purpose of township government is to serve as frontline government officials assisting the most vulnerable residents — providing essential services that keep families safe, housed, fed and supported. Township government is the closest level of government to the people, delivering critical services like poor relief and emergency assistance, access to food and other essentials, fire protection, cemetery preservation and maintenance, and other programs.
The most pressing need in the township is food insecurity. With 25% of Noblesville Schools students qualifying for free or reduced lunch, we know that there are a significant number of residents who need food and basic essentials. Food prices, rent, utility bills have all increased significantly in recent years without corresponding increases in wages. Many folks who are working hard are still having difficulty making ends meet. Ensuring that funds are budgeted and used to stock and distribute food and basic essentials from the township’s food pantry would be a top priority.
As a mom, lawyer and community advocate, I have taken pride in caring for and protecting the interests of family, clients, and community members that I have served. As the President of my homeowners association, I lead board meetings and participated in adopting an annual budget, collecting dues payments, and approving contracts with service providers. The perspective I would bring to Noblesville Township would be to put serving people first.
My experience as a homeowner’s association board member and President has prepared me to provide fiscal oversight for township funds. I have also gained valuable experience with the League of Women Voters, Noblesville Diversity Coalition and volunteering in Noblesville Schools.
