I am a conservative servant-leader dedicated to the people of Fishers. With over two decades of local volunteer experience and a deep history in Indiana, I understand the unique needs of our township. Lead by the Trustee, our office serves as the first line of defense for those in distress—offering essential support for housing, utilities, and job placement. By verifying needs and following up with proactive coaching, we ensure our resources don't just solve today's problem, but prevent tomorrow’s crisis. Duties of the board include adopting the annual budget, serving as a board of finance and approving township contracts. In January of each year, the trustee presents to the board an annual report showing the receipts, expenditures, investments, and debts of the township.
Indiana’s township governments exist to deliver hyper‑local public services—the kinds of things that are too small or too community‑specific for counties or cities to manage efficiently. At their core, townships are meant to be the grassroots layer of government, closest to residents and focused on basic welfare, safety, and property stewardship.
Poor Relief / Township Assistance
This is the primary statutory duty today. Townships provide emergency help with essentials like utilities, rent, food, medical needs, transportation for work, and burial costs. They operate much like small social‑service agencies, with stricter rules and “last resort” criteria. Other services and purposes include Fire Protection & Emergency Services, Cemetery Care & Property Stewardship, and Local Administration & Budgeting.
Addressing food insecurity is, in my view, the most critical challenge facing our community. Our food pantry provides essential support to dozens of families every month. It is sustained 100% by donations, as government funding is not permitted. That means the pantry’s mission succeeds only through the commitment and generosity of our community.
I bring more than twenty years of leadership experience in a service‑focused organization. My commitment has always been to deliver the highest quality support to our clients while ensuring we operate in the most economically responsible way.
As I finish my third term as a township board member, I have a solid understanding of what it takes to do this job well. I also bring more than 22 years of service with the Kiwanis Club of Fishers Station, where I served multiple terms as president. Long‑time Fishers residents know the value and impact of that commitment to community service.
