Why are you seeking elected office?

What do you think is the purpose of township government?

What do you see as the most pressing needs in the township, and what specific steps would you take to address them?

What skills, experience, or perspectives would you bring to the Township Board to support the Trustee and township government?

What other community organizations or leadership roles have prepared you for this position?

Candidate Statement I am committed to preserving the Delaware Township Trustee's Office and the essential services it provides. The office provides township assistance, an on-site food pantry, fire protection, cemetery maintenance, and other critical community resources. For many residents, these services are a true lifeline. Unlike larger city or county government, township offices are designed to respond quickly and personally to individual needs. I believe that kind of grassroots, relationship-based government is worth protecting, and that the board must remain accountable, elected, and deeply connected to the people it represents.

As Fishers has expanded, so have the needs, voices, and demographics of the people who call Delaware Township home. I am running to help ensure that township services and leadership evolve alongside the community, and that every resident, regardless of background, feels seen and supported.

My goals are to strengthen local services, support representative democracy at the township level, and ensure Delaware Township continues to serve every neighbor with care, dignity, and respect.

To me, township government is where local service meets real life. It exists to make sure neighbors have support when they need it most, whether that’s help with food, housing, or getting through a tough moment. It’s also one of the most direct forms of representative government we have. Decisions are made close to home, by people who understand the community and are accessible to it.

What makes township government unique is that it’s personal. It’s not just about programs or policies, it’s about relationships and trust. When it works well, people feel seen, supported, and connected. That’s why I believe it’s so important to keep it local, responsive, and focused on the everyday needs of residents.
Delaware Township is growing quickly, and with that comes both opportunity and responsibility. One of the biggest needs I see is making sure people can access essential services when they need them most. The Trustee’s Office is a lifeline for many, especially through the food pantry and short-term assistance programs, and it’s important that those resources continue to grow alongside our community.

I also think we can do a better job helping residents understand what the township offers. Too often, people don’t know support is available until they’re already in a difficult situation. Clear, consistent communication can make a real difference.

At the end of the day, I want to make sure township government stays local, responsive, and focused on people. That means listening, being transparent, and making decisions that reflect the needs of the whole community.
My experience really comes from both my professional work and being actively involved in my community. I currently serve on my HOA board, where I’ve worked on budgets, neighborhood improvements, and making sure decisions are clear and transparent. That’s shown me how important it is for local leaders to listen and communicate openly.

In my career, I’ve led teams and built programs that bring together different perspectives, manage resources carefully, and focus on serving people in meaningful ways. I’ve also spent time in the nonprofit space, including with X PRIZE and Newfields (the Indianapolis Museum of Art), where community connection was at the heart of the work.

Across all of this, what’s stuck with me is simple: strong communities come from showing up, being transparent, and meeting people where they are. That’s what I would bring to this role.
A lot of my preparation for this role comes from the different ways I’ve stayed involved in my community over the years. I’ve served as president of my neighborhood HOA, where I’ve listened to and worked closely with neighbors to make improvements while ensuring that decisions are transparent and fair.

I’ve also had the opportunity to lead Families with Children from China and be involved with Sweet Relief, both of which deepened my commitment to supporting people and building strong, connected communities.

In my professional life, I’ve led teams and built programs that require listening, balancing different perspectives, and making thoughtful decisions with real impact. Across all of these experiences, I’ve learned that good leadership starts with showing up, listening well, and putting people first.
