The Mayor of Kingsland serves as the chief elected leader of the city and works to make sure local government runs effectively and serves the needs of residents. The role includes helping set the city’s vision and priorities, working with the city council to pass policies and budgets, and ensuring city services—such as police, fire, public works, and community programs—operate efficiently.

The mayor also represents the city in partnerships with businesses, community organizations, and other levels of government to promote economic growth, improve infrastructure, and enhance quality of life. Another key duty is listening to residents’ concerns, encouraging community involvement, and helping bring solutions to issues affecting the city.
I bring a strong background in social work and community service, along with leadership experience that has prepared me to understand and respond to the real needs of residents. Through my work supporting individuals and families, I have developed skills in problem-solving, advocacy, crisis response, and connecting people with resources—skills that are essential when addressing community concerns and improving quality of life.

I also have experience supervising and working with diverse teams, managing complex situations, and collaborating with community partners and agencies to create positive outcomes. This work has strengthened my communication, organization, and decision-making abilities while teaching me how to listen carefully.
One of my first priorities in office would be improving communication and transparency between city leadership and the residents of Kingsland. Many community concerns grow simply because people don’t know what decisions are being made or how to share their input. Strengthening that connection helps build trust and leads to better solutions.

To accomplish this, I would work to create more consistent communication through town hall meetings, community forums, and improved online updates so residents know what projects are happening, how city funds are being used, and how they can get involved. I would also encourage stronger collaboration between city departments and community organizations so concerns are addressed more quickly.
