Shall the City of Lake Worth Beach amend its Charter at Article III, SynopsisPalm Beach County contains 39 incorporated municipalities. Several years ago, the County Supervisor of Elections informed municipalities she would be unable to sit on each municipality's canvassing board and asked the municipalities to use the County Canvassing Board instead. Lake Worth Beach began using the County Canvassing Board. The Supervisor of Elections has been certifying Lake Worth Beach’s election results since the 1970s, rather than the City Commission, which previously had served as the canvassing board for City elections and certified its elections. This ballot measure would update the City Charter to accurately reflect the legal framework under which the City has been operating its elections since 1973.Yes - For the Measure Means:If voters accept the ballot measure, the City Charter would be updated to accurately reflect the legal framework under which the City currently operates its elections.No - Against the Measure Means:If voters reject the ballot measure, the City Charter would continue to reflect certification of City Elections by the City Commission, which previously had been canvassing City elections.
