Pulaski Big Rock Constable

Over their two-year term, a constable has the same law enforcement authority as a sheriff in their township. They have arrest power, can write citations, and respond to accidents. A 2007 law, however, placed training requirements on constables if they wanted to carry a gun on duty and have access to the Arkansas Crime Information Center. State law also requires them to wear uniforms while on duty and label any patrol vehicle with "Arkansas Constable" on it. They are required to turn over any fines collected from citations to the county.Under state law, they no longer have authority to appoint deputies. They are required to keep records of any citations and administrative records, similar to requirements placed on sheriffs.

Contest Constable, Big Rock Township, Pulaski County
The role of Constable has a long history and remains part of our Arkansas state constitution.

I believe it can serve the community best through service, accessibility, and helping people navigate local resources. My vision for the office focuses on being a community helper — supporting neighbors, promoting safety, and connecting residents with the right agencies and professionals.

Increasing civic engagement is one of my passions. Voter participation remains low statewide, especially in midterm years, and I want to encourage active, lifelong engagement by registering voters, sharing resources, and promoting participation throughout my campaign.
I’m an 8th generation Arkansan and (with the exception of my collegiate years) I am a lifelong Pulaski County resident. I enjoy connecting with people, solving problems, and supporting my community. My background includes public relations, community leadership roles, and service through nonprofits and volunteer organizations. I’m also proud to be an Eagle Scout and a graduate of the University of Arkansas system.
I will guarantee that the office has a responsible placeholder. The time for constable has largely passed, yet the constitution still grants it wide authority. My first thing to remember is that there are professional law enforcement officers in our community, and it is important to let them do their job.
