Owner/Director Angel Wings Ranch
Rena is a mom, a rancher, and a non-profit business owner. These life experiences have shown her the importance of social engagement and intentional political conversations, especially as she has worked with populations with government involvement (like veterans and foster youth). Because she truly believes in a government “by the people, for the people” she has entered this race in the hopes of representing the people who make up TX Senate district 22.
Transparency in every aspect of our election process is critical, from the voter registration process to the day-of ballot submissions. The people should be informed and aware of how the process works.
Free and fair access is a subject of extreme importance to retirees and our military members, who may need additional support to cast their vote. Having a clear and transparent process will help these voters continue to engage in the democratic processes we value so highly.
Less government involvement, opening the marketplace, and holding insurance companies accountable to a better standard.
Incentivizing small businesses and entrepreneurship, discouraging data centers and companies that will not maintain long-term jobs.
This would largely happen through tax incentives and zoning regulations that are applicable to our rural areas.
We should invest in research from individuals who are invested in both energy growth and the agricultural sector.
Technology has grown faster than our energy pace, we need energy growth while protecting our rural/agricultural communities.
Policies that standardize and enhance teacher pay and incentives need to be prioritized, which will require evaluating where money is currently being spent and then redistributing back into the people and programs that are holding our schools together.
Transparency and accountability throughout the government system will change the trajectory of our schools and society.
