Bio Questions All Candidates
I am a Performance coach, and I run a small service business right in the heart of District 28, Abilene Texas. I grew up in the area, my dad was a ranch hand, and my mom was a probation officer. Ranch life instilled in me an understanding of what strong work ethic can do for you and the resilience of a working-class family. I’m running for District 28 Texas State Senator. I’ve worked every job Texas is known for, cowboying, oilfield hand, and business owner, all while continuing to work on my higher education currently finishing my degree at Texas Tech. I am a working-class candidate, I know how it feels to live paycheck to paycheck, to have to choose between gas or groceries, what one sharp drop in oil prices can mean for workers, a
I have been a working class Texan in my district my whole life, and I now run two businesses in the area so I am in touch with what the working class and small business owners are facing in the area and what policies could be implemented to actually help regular Texans. For 10 years I have worked for myself and built two businesses. I know what it takes to succeed and be self sufficient, I also understand the benefits that social safety nets like affordable healthcare, unemployment insurance, and affordable college can do for a young adult such as myself.
I would heavily regulate the new data centers being built out in our rural districts, as well as raise standards for environmental upkeep and safety policies for all energy companies in Texas. I would also support investment into desalination on the coast. Texas also needs to establish rural water boards throughout the state in order to ensure corporations do not buy up land and steal water.
Texans voter information should remain private not in the hands of the Federal government, I would support increasing the early voting period and multiple voting stations. I would support on site registration as well as long as there is a valid Texas ID.
Texas needs to require more industry. I would support regulation that would require high air quality standards, water quality and soil testing, with large fines and exemptions revocations tied to those corporations who fail those tests. I would support more investment in energy infrastructure, moving across the state updating the wires, plants and equipment facilitating our energy generation.
