As a County Coroner, I know there are many responsibilities other than pronouncing a death. Documenting and finding cause of death. Filing all death certificates. Manage and maintain records. Coordinate with law-enforcement on investigations. Coordinate and work alongside the state crime lead. Court testimony, no answer subpoenas. My main objective is advocating for the deceased and achieving truth and closure for families with respect and dignity they deserve.
I have served and worked as a volunteer firefighter and first responder for 25+ years. Currently, I am the assistant fire chief for Pettigrew Boston volunteer fire department and their lead medical responder. In this capacity, I have arrived first on scene and worked alongside with Madison County Sheriff’s office, Madison County EMS, and past and present Coroner’s office. During my time as a volunteer first responder and firefighter, I have provided compassion, empathy, and support to the grieving families and their loved ones. I am not a politician, my priority will always be the deceased and their families.
If elected, I will push for Madison County Coroner to have an office in Huntsville with the appropriate equipment. Equipment would include a county owned refrigeration, unit, cameras, exam table, sanitation system, filing cabinets, etc. This equipment would all be owned by the county for any future corners to utilize as well. In years past the Arkansas Coroners Association has offered grants for counties to apply for, which would help fund the equipment needed. I personally believe, as a County elected position, the corners office should not be ran out of a private home or a personal business. I will work towards having more deputies spread out in the county for a faster response time to calls.
