Contest Justice of the Peace District 4
Justice of the Peace serve as the legislative body for Logan County. The 11 JP's meet once a month (Quorum Court) to review and pass ordinances, determine and approve the budgets for the county and for each elected county official, determine the number and positions of county employees, determines salaries for all county employees, and determines county employee personnel policies.
I have 33 years experience working as a mid level manager in the Federal government. My department consisted of accountants & auditors tasked with ensuring statements for the military services met Generally Accepted Accounting Practices (GAAP) Federal Accounting Standards Board (FASB)requirements. I served as an advisor on the board. I understand budgets, personnel policies and how bureaucracy works.
I would like to work with fellow JPs to improve the budget process for the county, streamline inefficiencies, and represent the interest of those in my district with competence.
