Despite the district’s growth, Elkins School District has held onto the close‑knit, small‑school feel that defines its community. Teachers genuinely care about their students, investing time in personal connections and celebrating each child’s unique strengths.
Parents have shared that, despite the positive relationships many teachers form with students, their children sometimes feel overlooked or unfairly treated because of their differences. Some families have also felt that the School Board is difficult to approach and that their concerns go unrecognized by parts of the administration. If elected, I will strive to create a more open, welcoming School Board—one that listens to parents and values their experiences. I care about every student, and while I may not be able to solve every issue alone, I can ensure that concerns remain part of the conversation and are never dismissed.
