The responsibilities of a Justice of the Peace is to improve the life of the people living in Washington County. We vote on many financial items for the county. Another aspect of the position is oversight of conditional use permits.
I am on the Farmington City Council which gives me experience into the operations of government. I was also a JP in 2013 and 2014 because the governor appointed me to that position when there was a vacancy so I have had county government experience.
The purpose of the American Rescue Plan money was to go for infrastructure such as sewers and water systems. This was a tremendous addition to the budgets all over this county and many other counties. Washington county received approximately 150 million, Fayetteville receive a comparable amount. Even Farmington receiver 1.5 million. I would like for the remaining 19 million go to people in the county who need help with old septic systems, centralized sewer systems and help paying off excessive debt because of a centralized sewer system that went awry.
