The role of the assessor is to discover, list, and determine the fair market value of all real estate, personal property, and business personal property within the county. Additionally, the office is responsible for maintaining the Cadastre map and reviewing property exemption applications.
In my eleven years as Washington County Assessor I have completed over 250 hours in the assessment administration track and hold the Level 4 Designation as a Senior Administrator recognized by the State of Arkansas. My technical training includes IAAO courses 101, 300, 400, and 500, as well as the Marshall & Swift Commercial Cost Workshop. Over the past ten year I have served on the board of the Arkansas Assessors Association as a District 1 representative, Vice President, and most recently as President. During my tenure, I have successfully completed all three county reappraisals.
In 2027, Washington County will conduct a county-wide reappraisal to adjust property values to current market levels. To provide clarity and transparency, my goal is to ensure every resident has 24/7 access to simple, easy-to-understand information regarding their property assessments.
