Washington County Judge
The County Judge is not a legislator; it’s an executive management role with very heavy doses of engineering and law responsibilities. The County Judge is the Chief Executive Officer of the County and presides over the Quorum Court. He or she directly oversees the Road Department, Public Safety, Planning and Development, and all County Facilities. He is also responsible for various County Administrative Departments such as Accounting, Finance, Human Resources and Information Technology. The County Judge authorizes the disbursement of all County funds.
For over 30 years, I have worked as an executive in and with Fortune 500 corporations, managing large operations, large organizations, large budgets, and negotiating large deals. I am the only candidate with an engineering degree and experience, a huge advantage when dealing with the road and infrastructure issues of the job. I am the only candidate for Judge who is also a practicing attorney, providing a clear understanding of the law and legal concepts.
The current administration has blundered into a myriad of lawsuits costing the taxpayers millions. The importance of keeping the county out of legal problems by knowing and understanding the law, and the repercussions of one's actions before making decisions cannot be overstated.
The current administration is one of belittling and dismissive arrogance, fostering an atmosphere of fear, intimidation, and retribution. My goal is to foster and create a cohesive, respectful, cooperative working environment, one where everyone’s opinion is heard (friend and foe alike), considered, and given the consideration and respect it deserves. A work culture where people are excited to come to work because they feel valued and safe to express their opinions without fear of belittlement or retribution.
Then take time to observe and understand, in every department, what is going on and why. Once adequately informed and up to speed, make appropriate changes, improvements, and upgrades to anything and everything as warranted.

Washington County Judge
The County Judge serves as the chief executive of county government. The role includes managing the county budget, overseeing county departments and road operations, administering county property and contracts, and presiding over the County Court on administrative matters. The Judge works with the Quorum Court, other elected officials, cities, and state partners to deliver services efficiently, maintain infrastructure, and ensure taxpayer dollars are used responsibly. The job is about execution, coordination, and accountability rather than politics.
I have spent my career managing complex public systems with real consequences. As a police captain and division head, I oversee budgets, personnel, facilities, contracts, and long-term planning. I helped design and implement a grant-funded crisis response program that integrated licensed social workers into first-response operations and required coordination among law enforcement, courts, hospitals, and community providers. I hold a bachelor’s degree in Organizational Management from John Brown University, a master’s degree in Operations Management from the University of Arkansas, and I am a graduate of the FBI National Academy and PERF’s Senior Management Institute. In 2022, the University of Arkansas recognized my work with an honorary So
The first improvement will be strengthening coordination across county government so departments and partner agencies are working toward shared priorities. I will begin by meeting with department heads, elected officials, and community partners to understand what is working and where processes break down. From there, I will set clear expectations, improve communication, and use data to guide decisions. Having grown up in Washington County and spent my career working across public safety, courts, health services, and local government, I understand how collaboration and clarity lead to better outcomes for residents.
