I believe the County Clerk's office plays an important role for the public by maintaining official record's including deed's, marriage license and ordinances. This office manages elections and acts as clerk to the Board of Commissioners or Court as well as handling finances/payroll for the County. I also believe that the County Clerk should work diligently to serve the people that have entrusted them with their vote and to make sure that everyone's tax dollars are spent wisely and with accountability. And to also, with transparency, ensure that the elections are fair and honest. I want the trust of the tax payers!
I have worked most of my life in the business administrative field. I attended ASU in Searcy, Arkansas for business administration. In my earlier years I was administrative assistant in a nursing facility where I worked accounts payable and receivables. I went on to work at Arkansas Blue Cross and Blue Shield where I processed medical and hospital claims as well as the coordination of benefits. I made a move to North Arkansas where I was hired as Director of the Chamber of Commerce. I coordinated festivals and worked closely with the businesses to help generate much needed revenue for the small town. I believe the many areas of business I've worked in my life, will help me fulfill the duties of a great county clerk!
The first thing I would like to accomplish is to implement a pay scale. There are no regulations on pay in this office which ultimately leads to a burden on the tax payer. I want to find ways to save the tax payers money and maintain an office with full honesty, integrity and transparency.
We prepare and secure our elections by building them in the system, testing every voting machine, training our poll workers and we handle voter registration. Our office manages payroll for the entire county and oversees accounts payable.
We also serve families through probate services, including guardianships, adoptions, small estates and wills for safe keeping. We issue marriage licenses, help new business owners protect their business names through DBAs, provide minister credentials, and offer notary services-free of charge.
I have 11 years of experience in the County Clerk’s Office, including 7 years serving as Chief Deputy, where I provided day-to-day leadership and oversight of office operations.
As Chief Deputy, I supervised and trained staff, ensured accurate and secure maintenance of official records, and upheld compliance with state laws and regulations. I worked closely with county officials and the public to deliver consistent, efficient, and professional service.
The first thing I plan to improve as County Clerk is office efficiency and consistency. With 11 years in the Clerk’s Office, including 7 as Chief Deputy, I know how it operates and where improvements can be made.
I will standardize procedures, review workflows, and ensure staff are cross-trained to handle responsibilities accurately and efficiently. This will reduce delays, minimize errors, and make services faster and more reliable for residents.
My goal is an office that runs smoothly, serves the public effectively, and maintains accuracy, transparency, and trust from day one.
