Lonoke County Sheriff
I am running for Lonoke County Sheriff. The duties that are involved in that are overseeing the office ensuring that it operates within budget and overseeing the Detention Center. In large part the duty as elected Sheriff is to oversee the deputies, providing them leadership and guidance while making sure they have the appropriate training and holding them accountable when they fail to follow those guidelines.
I have just over 30 years' experience in Law Enforcement. During that time, I worked my way through the ranks obtaining the rank of Captain. I retired approx. 3 years ago but greatly missed serving so I went back to work after about 2 months. I have always held a passion of serving the public and pride myself in being firm, fair and consistent when it comes to enforcing the laws. I currently am a Detective with a city police department and am also a task force officer with a federal law enforcement agency where I primarily investigate child sex crimes and financial crimes against the elderly. By doing so I am able to prosecute these crimes through the Federal Court system which ends in much longer prison sentences for the offenders.
To be honest the Lonoke County Sheriff's Office is a total mess at the moment. I will start by sitting down with all the employees and instruct them in what is expected of them. I will demand the highest quality of service from them and if they continue to fail at that they will be held accountable. I will accomplish bringing the morale up to where it should be and with that, I believe I can bring the interests of potential job candidates back and in doing so will be able to hire the best quality employees.

Lonoke County Sheriff
The Office of Sheriff exists to protect life, uphold the law, and serve the people with integrity, accountability, and consistency. This is not a ceremonial role — it is a 24/7 responsibility.
The Sheriff leads a full-service law enforcement agency responsible for patrol operations across 830 square miles, criminal investigations, school resource partnerships, court security, civil process, and the management of the county detention center. The office must enforce the law while respecting constitutional rights, protect victims, hold offenders accountable, and ensure the jail operates safely, securely, and within budget.
The Sheriff must also work closely with city agencies, state and federal partners, prosecutors, the courts, and community
I began my law enforcement career in 2000 and have served as a Patrol Officer, School Resource Officer, Field Training Officer, Patrol Sergeant, Chief of Police, and for the past 14 years, your elected Sheriff. That progression has given me experience at every level — from answering calls at 2 a.m. to managing budgets, personnel, and a full-service detention facility.
I have led major investigations including homicides, sexual assaults, and complex felony cases. I’ve served as a crisis negotiator and have worked alongside federal partners in cases involving child exploitation and drug trafficking. Under my leadership, we have been tough and aggressive on sexual predators, drug dealers, and repeat offenders while being fiscally responsible.
My top priority is to keep raising the bar on training and investigative excellence so we build stronger cases from the very beginning. Expanding advanced training for deputies and investigators in areas such as crimes against children, digital forensics, use-of-force decision making, and case preparation. It means continuing to invest in modern technology and tools that make deputies safer and cases stronger. It means holding ourselves to a higher standard on every arrest, every report, and every prosecution. We will continue to be tough and aggressive on sexual predators who target our children, on drug traffickers pushing poisons into our communities, and thieves who prey on hardworking families. Along with recovery programs in the jail.
