• A Justice of the Peace serves as a member of the Quorum Court, which is the legislative body of the county. In Arkansas, the Quorum Court is responsible for exercising local legislative authority. In Jefferson County, the Quorum Court is composed of elected members representing individual districts across the county.
• As Justice of the Peace I have voted on ordinances and resolutions that govern county affairs. These measures address matters such as county operations, public services, infrastructure, and local policy.
• As Justice of the Peace we approve the annual county budget and approve county funds.
• As Justice of the Peace we set county tax rates, including property and sales taxes.
Legislative Leadership
I have shown the ability to analyze ordinances, debate policy issues, and articulate clear positions during Quorum Court discussions while explaining my support or oppose measures.
Fiscal Oversight and Budget Analysis
I have performed budget reviews with financial scrutiny to identify wasteful spending. I have also shown strategic thinking about workforce and infrastructure needs while focusing on long-term county sustainability rather than short-term adjustments.
Public Policy Advocacy
I have consistently advocate for responsible government, infrastructure improvement, and transparency that shows:
• Policy evaluation skills
• Prioritization of community impact
• Willingness to take principled positions
In the next year I plan to have more dialogues about improving the roads, staying the course being committed to stronger county finances by being more vocal about responsible fiscal decisions, and making sure my goal of serving the constituents does not change.
