The role of a Justice of the Peace is to represent the interests of their district while serving on the Quorum Court to make decisions that benefit the entire county. This includes reviewing and approving budgets, setting policies and ordinances, providing oversight of county operations, and ensuring taxpayer funds are used responsibly. Justice of the Peace works collaboratively with other elected officials, listens to the concerns of residents, and helps ensure county government operates efficiently, transparently, and in the best interest of the community.
My experience has prepared me to serve effectively as a Justice of the Peace through leadership, community involvement, and professional responsibility. I have developed strong communication and problem-solving skills by working with diverse groups of people, managing responsibilities, and making decisions that require accountability and fairness. My background has given me an understanding of teamwork, organization, and serving the public with integrity. I am committed to listening to residents, working collaboratively with other officials, and making thoughtful, responsible decisions that move the county forward.
One of the first things I plan to improve is communication and collaboration within the Quorum Court and with the public. I believe stronger communication helps prevent misunderstandings, build trust, and leads to better decision-making. I will work to encourage open dialogue among members, promote transparency in the budgeting and decision-making process, and create more opportunities for residents to stay informed and provide input. By focusing on cooperation and clear communication, we can improve efficiency and better serve the needs of the community.
