We assess all real and personal property in the county, work deeds to transfer ownership, map parcels, run abstracts, and answer numerous questions from taxpayers. Once value is put on the books it is rolled over to the collector to bill. The money collected is then distributed to county general and our public schools.
I'm going on 20 years of working in the assessor's office. I have worked in personal, business personal and real property or as we call it, working deeds. I have taken numerous classes (not required) so I can have a better understanding of how our appraisal company values property. Because of this I believe I am the best candidate for this job.
We are the only county in the state to NOT have GIS mapping. When I took office in 2023, my goal was to bring Fulton County into the world of GIS mapping. I'm proud to say that I secured a grant from the state and we are in the process of having our county mapped. We also offer online assessments and look forward to getting our business assessments online in the near future.
