I’ve been employed for Dewitt County for 15 years. In those 15 years the past 4 I’ve worked for Pct. 2. My experience working side by side with our current commissioner has given me the passion to continue serving the residents of Dewitt County.
We can effectively manage growth by implementing 'smart growth' principles that prioritize targeted development while protecting community character, historic districts, and natural resources, ensuring the environment is protected and taxpayer money is used wisely.
Residents have clearly indicated they are ready for a change within Dewitt County, and are looking for someone to make sure our county residents' tax money is spent wisely.
I was born and raised in Yoakum, I feel the need to take ownership to serve and improve my hometown region. I bring over 20 years of experience with the county in Precinct 2. My knowledge, experience, and proven leadership position me to better serve our community.
I am committed to maintaining a positive and productive work environment. A present and effective commissioner who is in tune with their crew fosters growth, accountability, and teamwork. Improved work efficiency not only helps conserve natural resources and protect the environment, but also ensures responsible use of taxpayer funds.
I plan to be available to the taxpayers and their concerns. It is a priority of mine to upgrade and maintain our county roads and bridges, while preserving the natural environment, such as our native plants and wildflowers.

I feel it’s time to share my 50+ years of experience with the Commissioners Court and the voters of DeWitt County. Throughout my career, I’ve focused on solving problems, managing budgets, and overseeing projects that make communities stronger. I want to bring that same hands-on, practical experience to Precinct 2 and be a voice for taxpayers, families, and small businesses.
Managing growth in our county is essential for our community to thrive and prosper. Establishing fair tax rates and offering targeted tax incentives can help attract new businesses and support long-term economic development. At the same time, we must preserve the hometown character and traditional way of doing business that define our historic county. By maintaining strong infrastructure and thoughtful policies, we can encourage growth without disrupting the values and practices that our current businesses and residents depend on.
Community leaders approached me and asked if I would run for Commissioner of Precinct 2 to help keep taxpayer spending in check and bring strong leadership to the Commissioners Court. They believe my experience would help guide better decision-making, keep our tax rate low, and ensure we build and repair roads that last longer. Based on my work history and proven leadership, they felt I would be a good fit for the job and someone who would represent the best interests of our community.
