Public service and community involvement have always been something that is important to me. It is a value that was instilled in me by my parents in my childhood.
My motivation in running is that I believe our judicial system is part of what makes this the greatest country in the world. I believe that judges are one of our most public facing elected officials. I'd like to do my part to restore faith in some of our governmental institutions by being a good example of a public servant.
All of the areas of law that this court oversees are the areas of law I have handled since I began practicing. I have an extensive background in civil litigation, which is the majority of what this court oversees on a day to day basis.
I have handled very complex litigation matters, as well as small matters worth hundreds of dollars. I have handled cases as both a plaintiff and a defendant.
Most importantly, I have had hundreds of clients as an attorney, and I know how the justice system impacts voter's every day lives. I will strive to be a judge that does not forget that the court system is not only about lawyers and judges, but about the citizens that make up this great county.
I have knocked on hundreds of doors and spoken to many people during my campaign. The number one concern that is expressed to me is that we need judges who don't forget about who the court system is for, and that it is important for judges to follow the law. This is a system designed for the people.
The overwhelming message I have heard is that a judge's job is simple: to be fair and impartial, and to follow the law.
My top three priorities are to move cases efficiently, ensure that hearings are able to be set within a reasonable timeframe, and to be consistent in my judicial philosophy.
I believe these priorities work together. By maintaining a consistent judicial philosophy, parties know what to expect when coming before you in court. This helps to ensure that attorneys can properly advise their clients of what to expect. This helps keep clients from being surprised or confused by the process.
Well advised clients and prepared attorneys move cases along quicker, and allow parties to reach agreements and resolutions. This helps to clear up the court's docket, freeing up time for hearings and helping with disposing of cases in a timely manner.

I am running for Judge of County Court at Law No. 3 because public service through the justice system has always been my goal. I am a lifelong resident of Nueces County and a graduate of Tuloso Midway High School. I earned my undergraduate degree in Criminal Justice with a concentration in the court system, and for the past 14 years I have practiced law here in our community.
I have always believed in the criminal justice system in America and the vital role judges play in ensuring it functions fairly and responsibly. I am seeking this office because I know I have the temperament, restraint, and experience necessary to serve as a fair and impartial judge who applies the law as written and does not legislate from the bench.
My strongest competency is my extensive, hands-on courtroom experience combined with judicial temperament. I have practiced law for 14 years and have successfully operated my own law practice, which requires organization, accountability, and sound judgment. These are the skills necessary to manage a courtroom effectively.
My background in criminal justice, both academically and professionally, gives me a deep understanding of how courts affect victims, defendants, families, and the community as a whole. I know how to listen carefully, rule thoughtfully, and maintain fairness and dignity in the courtroom while ensuring the law is followed.
The number one concern I hear from residents is the desire for fairness, consistency, and respect in the courtroom. People want to know that their case will be heard by a judge who is prepared, patient, and impartial.
My response is that every person who appears in my courtroom will be treated with respect and given a fair hearing. I am committed to applying the law equally to everyone, ensuring efficient case management, and maintaining a courtroom that reflects professionalism, order, and integrity.

I will prioritize efficient docket management to reduce unnecessary delays while ensuring that every case receives appropriate attention. My experience running my own practice has prepared me to manage time and resources effectively.
