I’ve spent 21 years as a father being involved with not only my sons’ activities but also donating my time to the youth of our community by being twice elected as a School Board Trustee, serving on the boards of the Education Foundation and Little League for many years and being a founding member of the Calallen Youth Basketball League. My youngest will graduate next year and I feel the best way to continue my commitment to guiding the youth of our community is to combine that experience with my many years of legal experience
My Judicial temperament developed over 21 years experience as a Municipal Court Judge. Interacting with the public on a frequent basis has provided me with a demeanor to insure each person that enters the courtroom is afforded an opportunity to be heard and leaves knowing that they were treated fairly, with respect and all decisions were based on the law.
The top concern expressed by the community is safety. My response is that County Court handles all Class A and B misdemeanors as such many offenders are first time young adults. With my many years of criminal law experience as both a prosecutor and defense attorney I would follow the law to utilize conditions of community supervision to provide guidance, discipline and structure to each defendant’s life for the purpose of developing a path for them to become a productive member of our community
My top 3 priorities would be access to the courts for citizens, insuring adequate preparation time for the litigants and being mindful of budget to safeguard against any waste of taxpayers money.
