My love for my family and this community inspired me to run for Judge of the 94th District Court. I grew up here, and this community helped shape who I am. I chose to raise my children here because this place matters to me. Over the years, I’ve seen firsthand how violence and crime affect our families. I have served as both a prosecutor and a defense attorney, gaining a full view of our justice system. I’ve learned from many judges what works well and what can be improved. Excellent judges help the system work as it should, knowing when a second chance is deserved and when our community is best protected by separation. We need to hold people accountable for their crimes.
My experience as a practicing attorney for nearly 25 years has taught me how the law works and which precedents must be followed. My life as a husband, father, and advisor has taught me patience and respect for people. I understand that court is often one of the hardest moments in a person’s life. Whether someone is a victim or accused, a plaintiff or defendant, everyone who enters the courtroom deserves a judge who is knowledgeable, fair, efficient, and compassionate while holding attorneys to the highest standards of preparation and professionalism.
Many residents feel frustrated that crime seems to go unanswered, justice takes too long, and the law is applied inconsistently. People tell me they believe crime has been rising for years, and they see cases dismissed and outcomes that leave victims and the community feeling less safe. They ask why this keeps happening and how it can be fixed. What they want is strength, consistency, and accountability. My answer is simple: I am ready to stand up for this community. I will run a courtroom where the law is followed—firmly, fairly, and consistently. I will listen carefully, apply the law faithfully, and work every day to restore confidence in our justice system.
Time matters in justice. Too often, cases sit for months or years while victims, defendants, and plaintiffs wait and lose faith in the process. I will move cases forward by setting fair, reasonable deadlines and holding them. At the same time, people deserve the court’s time. They should not feel rushed or unheard. In my courtroom, they will be listened to and treated with respect. Finally, I will give people back their time by running an efficient, law-focused court that avoids unnecessary delay and keeps cases moving. Justice should be timely, thoughtful, and fair.
I am passionate about fairness and integrity in our court system. In my current role, I study and review the judgements, orders, dockets, and records of District Courts for over 20 South Texas counties (including Nueces County), and serving as a District Judge is a natural progression from this role.

For many years, I served Nueces County as a felony prosecutor and assistant district attorney, managing a substantial docket of violent felony criminal cases. I have seen first hand that the right judge can make a real difference when people’s lives, children, and property are on the line, and, if given the opportunity, I would be honored to be that judge for Nueces County.
Most importantly, I will demonstrate consistent dedication to being fair and impartial to parties, attorneys, other courts, and the public.

Throughout my career of service to Nueces County and The State of Texas, I have a proven track record of being fair, impartial, and trustworthy. As a judge, I will use my unique blend of trial experience, appellate insight, and administrative knowledge to ensure lasting justice for our community.

I also bring unique technical training and abilities that could lead Nueces County Courts into the future. As a judge, I will use available technologies to ensure fairness, stability, and efficiency.
I have heard concerns from members of the community about a lack of transparency and accountability from our elected officials.

My track record of service is marked by unwavering transparency and the courage and dedication to do what is right. I am committed to providing a transparent Court where all parties are treated equally under the law.
1. Efficient docket management. Needless delays in cases bring instability to the parties and community, and I am experienced and committed to managing an efficient court docket.

2. Consistency in the law. Courts should be consistent, and I stand firm in the foundation that the law shall rule the day.

3. Equal treatment for all. My years of experience have created in me a keen awareness that the law encourages compassion and contains within it a mandate that all voices be heard.
