Having always had my heart in serving my community as an elected official, I decided to step up to the plate and run for Nueces County Clerk. I will bring organizational skills, respect and integrity and make sure every employee of the office treats all Nueces county citizens with respect regardless of party affiliation. I will lead by example, after all, this is an elected position and the very least a county clerk can do is to remain unbiased, and remain neutral when it pertains to overseeing countywide elections in Nueces County. I believe I am a good fit for this office with my experiences with the voting process which is the reason why, since I have witnessed several instances of impropriety, is the reason why I was motivated to run!
I have almost 17 years of work experience at the Nueces County Courthouse in the Auditor's Office working on budgets directly with several department officials, supervising the payroll section issuing elected and general payrolls, accounts payables, supervising the community service groups and many other duties. At the District Clerk's Office, I worked in the Criminal Section, the Probate Section, and the IV-D (child support) Section, all while training the clerks in e-filing, worked closely with several judges and I assisted the public with many issues in all the sections. I have many years of being a precinct chair to inform the public about voting, candidates and other political information, on the ballot board, election clerk & judge.
Many residents I have spoken to are concerned that when voting, they have experienced several problems such as not being allowed to vote for several reasons. The main reason was that their name was not found on the poll pad (voting system to find their voting information). They were then told they were not able to vote. After waiting in line for a while, they would have to leave and not vote. The solution is to call the voter's registration office and if everything is ok, then to call the county clerk's office to unsuspend the voter's name in order for the voter to complete the voting process! If given the opportunity to serve, I would assure that all Nueces County voters will be able to complete one of their constitutional right to vote!
Besides the voting issues, the following are problems the public are aware of and should be addressed: 1. County Clerk Services at the courthouse department windows are not available during normal business hours. I would make sure that the public would have virtual ACCESS to the department services during regular normal business hours. 2. Marriage certificate applicates are being interrogated and I would change that to have RESPECT to the privacy of the couple. Just as long as there is proper documentation, there is no need for further questioning by the County Clerk! 3. Mistakes are made and that is human nature. I would have TRANSPARENCY for the public to know that the mistakes not hidden and are learned from and not happen again.

I was motivated to run for County Clerk because I believe our local government should work for the people—efficiently, transparently, and with heart.
The Clerk’s office touches almost every part of our lives. From the joy of getting a marriage license to the vital importance of secure elections and the protection of your property records.
I understand how important it is for services to be accessible, organized, and dependable. I want to bring fresh energy, accountability, and a people-first approach. When elected, that will be my focus.
That is why I have decided to run for County Clerk.
I’m looking forward to meeting you on the campaign trail and hearing what you want to see from our county offices.
Let’s get to work!
In my line of work, efficiency and accuracy aren’t optional, they’re essential. My clients rely on me to be the expert who gets it right, and my attention to detail is exactly why they continue to trust me and refer their friends and family. That same leadership experience will guide me in running an office focused on excellent customer service, accountability, and being a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars.
The number one concern I hear from residents is about availability and transparency. People want to know their County Clerk’s office is accessible, responsive, and open about how things are done. My response is that public service should feel personal and trustworthy. If elected, I will lead an office that communicates clearly, returns calls, explains processes, and operates with honesty and accountability, so residents always feel informed, respected, and confident in their county government.
Efficiency, Modernization and Responsible use of tax payers dollars. My campaign is focused on running the County Clerk’s office with efficiency, integrity, and respect for the taxpayer. Residents deserve accurate work done right the first time, strong customer service, and systems that function smoothly without wasting time or money. I am committed to being a responsible steward of taxpayer dollars while modernizing the office in a way that protects public records and preserves the trust placed in county government.
