Ballot Language:The City Charter presently provides review every ten (10) years. Shall the City Charter be amended to provide for complete review of the city charter by a Citizens Committee appointed by the City Council every five (5) years?Synopsis:In May 2025, the City Council appointed members to the Charter Review Committee to perform a full review of the City Charter for updates and/or changes.The current City Charter only requires a review of the City Charter every ten (10) years. This referendum would change the review to every five (5) years. Additionally, the referendum states that the review will be done by a Citizen’s Committee appointed by the City Council. Yes - For the MeasureLeave the current process in place of performing a City Charter review every ten years with no specification of who does the review. No - Against the MeasureUpdate the City Charter review process to every 5 years by a Citizens Committee appointed by the City Council.
