Ballot Language:The City Charter presently provides City Council members are elected for a two (2) year term. Shall the City Charter be amended to allow City Council members to be elected for a three (3) year term? Synopsis:In May 2025, the City Council appointed members to the Charter Review Committee to perform a full review of the City Charter for updates and/or changes.Currently, the City Charter states that the Mayor’s term is three (3) years and the Council members’ term is two (2) years. This referendum would change the term length to 3 years for both Mayor and Council members. Yes - For the MeasureChange the City Council members’ term from 2 years to 3 years, making it the same as the Mayor’s length of term.No - Against the MeasureLeave the City Council member term at 2 years while the Mayor’s term is 3 years.
