The Galveston County District Clerk is the official record keeper and administrator for the District Courts, managing all case files, collecting fees, handling court funds, administering oaths, managing jury selection, and providing public access to records and e-filing services for a wide range of lawsuits, divorces, and criminal cases. They serve a 4-year term.

Three decades of experience in the Justice System as a police officer, attorney, FBI Agent 27 years and Galveston County District Clerk for 13 years. Accounting degree from the University of Texas at Arlington and a law degree from SMU Law School. Member of the Texas State Bar since 1982 and also a member of the Galveston County Bar. Accomplishments: Juror response from 30 percent to 75 percent. Scanned old records and implemented e-filing to make courts online instantly. On Jury Monday I greet and assist the jurors. I have greeted over 200,000 in the last 13 years. We have restored and placed online 100 years of immigration records. No reservation passports generate approx. $500,000 per year in unencumbered revenue for the county. Obtained hallway benches for all six floors of th courthouse so the jurors would not have to sit on the floor anymore.
Future Objectives: Continue to grow the passport business. Continue to restore the Republic of Texas historic records. Pay the jurors with gift cards.
