I am a Naval Special Warfare veteran who served in Iraq, where I learned disciplined decision-making, accountability, and leadership under pressure, lessons that continue to guide my public service.
After the military, I built a career in public administration and infrastructure delivery. I served as City Manager of Mont Belvieu, one of the fastest-growing cities in the Houston region, working directly for a Mayor and City Council and managing daily operations. During my tenure, I helped lead more than $4 billion in economic development and over $200 million in capital improvements, including roads, water, drainage, and public safety facilities.
Fiscal responsibility was a priority. We strengthened long-term financial stability, expanded property tax exemptions for seniors and disabled residents, and avoided unnecessary tax increases while maintaining high service levels.
Today, I am a small-business owner and infrastructure consultant working with cities and counties across Texas. This gives me a practical understanding of how state policy affects local governments, taxpayers, and economic growth. I bring executive experience, a results-driven approach, and a clear understanding of how legislation impacts communities.
Property taxes and rising local costs continue to strain households, particularly seniors and working families. While the state does not set local tax rates, it can provide tools that help local governments lower the burden. I support expanding homestead exemptions, increasing flexibility for cities and counties to manage revenue fluctuations, and resisting one-size-fits-all mandates that drive costs upward. I will focus on policies that allow local officials to control spending, maintain essential services, and return growth to taxpayers rather than raising rates.
The second major challenge is infrastructure. Rapid growth is outpacing roads, drainage, water systems, and public safety facilities. Poorly planned or delayed infrastructure increases congestion, flooding risk, and long-term costs. My approach is to prioritize projects that directly support safety and economic productivity, improve coordination between state and local agencies, and encourage financing methods that spread costs over time rather than pushing sudden increases onto taxpayers.
