I am I’m certified court manager for the state of Arkansas for three years, a trial court administrator for a circuit court judge for four years, former Crittenden County deputy circuit clerk for 10 years.
The first thing I plan on changing is bulk filing all pleadings, including pleadings from the 90s into context so we can move all court filings and proceedings online. 100% electronic filing. My mission and goal is to accomplish this by contacting the administrative office of the Court, speaking with our regional court administrator and quorum court members.

The role of Circuit Clerk is to maintain court records and carry out the duties to help support the judicial system. The are various records to maintain in the judicial system including- Civil, Juvenile, Domestic Relations and Criminal. Other records include deeds, mortgages, land records, liens and releases. Most records are public, which allows anyone access to what has been recorded in the Circuit Clerk's office, therefore it is important all records are handled properly and accurately. Another role is the that of preparing jury summons for those in the county with an Arkansas ID and/or a voter registration. The Circuit Clerk also assists attorneys, prosecutors, Circuit Judges, and all members of the community.
I have worked as a Deputy Circuit Clerk for over thirteen years. During this time I have worked in various departments including Domestic Relations and Juvenile. For the last eleven years I have worked in the Criminal department assisting attorneys, prosecutors, and Circuit judges. It is my job to file new cases, pleadings, type court dockets, and assist in the courtroom assuring the attorney's and prosecutor's pleadings are filed properly in open court. I have also prepared numerous appeal transcripts for the Arkansas Court of Appeals over the years. One of my most important day to day tasks is helping the public with proper filing procedures (without giving legal advice) and any record requests they may have.
If I were elected as Circuit Clerk I would continue to uphold the duties of this role while coming up with ways of improving specific tasks within the office. Circuit Clerk meetings are a great way to stay up to date on all aspects of the job at hand. With that being said, I would like to give current and new Deputy Clerks proper training opportunities to continue keeping accurate records efficiently with confidence. There are thousands of paper records filed in the Circuit Clerk's office and I would like to improve the way these records are stored until they are able to be digitized into an electronic filing system with the help of other counties who have done so in recent years.
