Circuit Judges preside over trial courts. Division 8 was created to handle an increase in criminal cases in Benton County. While Circuit Judges can hear different types of a cases, they handle felony criminal cases.
I have been a licensed attorney for nearly 20 years and during that time I have served as a prosecuting attorney in multiple state and federal jurisdictions. I have tried dozens of criminal jury trials and prosecuted thousands of criminal cases. As a Judge Advocate in the United States Army, I have both prosecuted and defended Soldiers, as well as serving as a judicial officer.
This is a new position, so there is nothing to change or improve with respect to this position. However, with my extensive experience in criminal law and specifically experience with the criminal cases in Benton County, I will immediately make it easier for criminal cases to be resolved.
