The primary duty of a state representative is to serve the people of their district. I believe roughly 75% of the role is dedicated to constituent services listening to concerns, helping citizens navigate government agencies, and being present and accessible in the community. Another 10% involves standing firm against bad policy that harms families, businesses, or local values. The remaining 15% is focused on crafting and supporting thoughtful legislation that addresses real needs and moves our state in a positive direction. A state representative must balance advocacy, accountability, and leadership while always keeping the interests of constituents first.
I bring real-world experience that reflects the lives of the people I seek to represent. As a mother of six, I understand the challenges families face in balancing work, finances, education, and healthcare. I have managed and operated businesses, giving me firsthand knowledge of budgeting, leadership, problem-solving, and the impact government policies have on employers and employees. My work in healthcare has provided insight into patient care, regulations, and the importance of access and accountability within the system. Like many Arkansans, I have worked hard, paid taxes, and lived under the laws being passed giving me a practical, grounded perspective needed to serve effectively.
One of my first priorities will be improving healthcare access by addressing hospital reimbursement rates. Arkansans pay insurance premiums comparable to those in surrounding states, yet Arkansas hospitals are reimbursed at rates two to three times lower for the same services. This disparity places an unsustainable burden on hospitals, especially in rural areas, and threatens access to care. I will work with healthcare providers, insurers, and state agencies to review reimbursement structures, compare regional data, and pursue policy changes that promote fair and competitive reimbursement. Equalizing rates will help strengthen hospitals, retain providers, and ensure rural communities are not left without essential healthcare services
